What's up with Ayla? - ARS Devlog 2

Helloooooooooo!

As you probably noticed, no devlog last month... I really planned to and had stuff I wanted to talk about, but I ended up catching Covid and then immediately left my apartment to visit my family for a week. And after skyrocketing past my goal date for these (12th of each month) I decided to just bundle it all into this month!

"So what's been worked on over the past two months?"I hear you asking
Well... nothing.........

Ayla's Maya Impression

Job hunting has been a insanely tiring process and I only managed to get one a week ago. And while I haven't even started getting paid yet, the feeling of security it has brought me as pushed me back into a place I can be creative and continue development! Though actually sitting down and opening the project feels almost Sisyphean. Though writing this devlog is helping me drive myself to opening the game, but I don't think I could get enough work done over the next few days to really show meaningful progress.

And then even more trouble strikes...

I wrote the above on August 10th, ready for a few gifs and a release on the 12th, only to fall while climbing and dislocate my left ankle (and badly sprain my right) keeping me in the hospital until the 14th. I've since been discharged and while I can type, draw, and program, I still need to keep my legs raised and rest as much as I can. Since I'll be off my feet for the next three weeks until it can bear weight again, hopefully I can get some work done. Though I make no promises as it hurts really, really bad.

While I continue regrouping after being hospitalized, I've mostly been laying and thinking about where I want to take everything in my life. Including this project! A lot of my goals still remain the same as July, finish getting stats and records implemented, and then start on fixing that tutorial.

Time continues to pass and issues keep delaying this blog post. Post-graduation has been super busy in all the wrong ways... I was going to animate a gif of me falling and dislocating my ankle, but I'd rather just post this already, so its going now!

Thanks for reading and cheers to pain medications.
